Ben turned away from her, shutting out the excitement and triumph in her eyes that sparkled at him so invitingly and the smile that was so bright it was as though it had stripped the neon from all the lights. If he didn’t leave now, then he was liable to shove her against the nearest wall and reward her for being so brave and confident.

He had tried to avoid her all day, feeling like an asshole for what happened between them online last night. He had taken things way too far, but she was getting under his skin like no one else had, carving her way through his veins and heading directly for his heart.

He knew he was half in love with her when he took the risk of moving here, but now? Now she was pretty much settled there for all eternity. Only he was stuck in this weird limbo of being her close friend online and her friend in real life where they had kinda, sorta shared a super-hot kiss and he didn’t know where to go from there. “Ben, wait,” she said, gripping his arm and that was all it took. Her dainty fingers, wrapping around the flesh of his forearm. Then she was pressed against the wall, his pelvis pinning her in place, his mouth crushing to hers, capturing the surprised moan that quickly turned erotic beneath the sweep of his tongue.
